Description
1931 Model A Ford Pickup Truck
A true survivor, quite rare for a Model A pickup to have survived in this condition for 90 years.
Imported to the UK in 2015, then stored until light recommissioning and first UK registration earlier this year.
All original inside and out, with later indicators and stop lights to allow for safe use in modern traffic.
Starts stops and runs as it should, I have driven over 250 miles in the truck since we registered it and its an absolute joy.
As with any vehicle of this age there are some squeaks and rattles and the odd drip, but for a usable car to go to shows or just enjoy the experience of motoring from another era this can't be beaten.
I think it must have a slightly higher rear diff ratio as it is happy to cruise along at 50-55 mph, the steering is ok and does not wander, the standard rod operated drum brakes are adequate and the gearbox is reasonable smooth once you get used to double de clutch, and does not jump out of gear.
All in all an amazing time-warp piece of history.
Viewing welcome by appointment.
